Bowhunting Safaris in Africa!
Amanita Safaris will take you on a lifetime bow hunting experience. Bow hunting is conducted on the best hunting areas. The strategically placed elevated, ground and pit blinds allow the bow hunter shots from 15 to 20 yards. It will be a plus if you can shoot up to 40 yards. As a bow hunter you face the ultimate challenge in hunting. You can use a compound, recurve, long bow or cross bow. We recommend a fixed blade broad head that cut on impact. No mechanical broad heads. We recommend that Bow Hunters come between 1st of June and October 15th which is later in our dry season and smaller waterholes has dried. We conduct our bow hunt over the main water holes.
The minimum draw weight permissible by law when hunting dangerous game is 80lbs. Broad heads must have at least two fixed cutting blades and must have a minimum cutting edge length and width of one inch (26mm+). Arrows a minimum of 700 grains. 800 -1000 grains are preferred.
If you are planning a bow hunt, please feel free to contact Amanita Safaris. We will provide you with all the equipment detail as well as the best time of year to do a bow hunt in South Africa.
